Tim Sawyer

T.Z. Sawyer Technical Consultants was established on January 1, 1990 as a Communication and Broadcasting technical consulting firm. During the firm's early years in business its primary focus was to providing technical assistance to AM radio stations particularly those with directional antenna systems (multiple towers, medium wave facilities).

Since its humble beginnings in 1990 the company has expanded the services offered to include all application and licensing forms and exhibits filed with the Federal Communications Commission and/or the Federal Aviation Administration concerning radio communication systems.

T.Z. Sawyer Technical Consultants is headed by Senior Partner Timothy Z. Sawyer. Mr. Sawyer has over 40 years experience as a broadcast and communications engineer. He is a member of the Broadcast Pioneers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

The firm is an associated member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the Arkansas Broadcasters Association (ABA) and the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA).

Mr. Sawyer started his Broadcasting career as a radio station engineer in 1969 in Orlando, Florida. In 1985, he joined the internationally known and well respected engineering firm of A.D. Ring & Associates, P.C. and later its wholly-owned subsidiary, duTreil, Lundin & Rackley, Inc., as a staff engineer. From 1985 and continuing with the establishment of his own firm in 1990 Mr. Sawyer has worked on technical projects and applications filed with the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration on behalf of numerous clients.

Beginning in 2003, Mr. Sawyer also serves as Senior Engineer and consultant to the Consulting Engineering firm of Mullaney Engineering, Inc., located in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Mr. Sawyer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a U.S. Citizen. His educational background includes engineering and project management studies at the University of Central Florida (Formerly Florida Technological University), Orlando Florida, with additional studies in the field of engineering management at The University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, and Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.

Mr. Sawyer is an avid aviator and active pilot and holds flight ratings in both piston as well as turbine powered aircraft. Mr. Sawyer volunteers his time as a medical transport pilot as needed. He has been active in aviation since 1969, and has logged in excess of 14,000 hours in various types of aircraft over a 40 year period.
