Staff - Meet The Staff

Timothy Z. Sawyer

Tim mSawyer Photo T.Z. Sawyer Technical Consultants is headed by Senior Partner, Timothy Z. Sawyer. Mr. Sawyer has over 35 years experience as a broadcast engineer. He is a member of the Broadcast Pioneers and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers). The firm is an associated member of the National Association of Broadcasters and the Arkansas Broadcasters Association. Mr. Sawyer started his Broadcasting career as a radio station engineer in 1969 in Orlando, Florida. In 1985, he joined the internationally known engineering firm of A.D. Ring & Associates, P.C. and its subsidiary du Treil, Lundin & Rackley, Inc. as a staff engineer. From 1985 to the establishment of his own firm in 1990, Mr. Sawyer worked on technical projects and applications filed with the Federal Communications Commission on behalf of various clients of A.D. Ring & Associates, and duTreil, Lundin & Rackley, Inc.

Mr. Sawyer is considered an expert in the field of radio frequency antenna design for medium wave radio facilities.

Mr. Sawyer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a U.S. Citizen. His educational background includes a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Central Florida (Formerly Florida Technological University), Orlando Florida, with post graduate studies in the field of engineering management at The University of Florida, Gainsville, Florida, and Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.

Mr. Sawyer is an avid and active pilot, and holds Commercial/Instrument flight ratings in both single and multi-engine piston as well as turbine (jet) powered aircraft. He has flown and flys both private, corporate and commercial aircraft as his time permits. Mr. Sawyer volunteers his time as a medical transport pilot as needed. He has been active in aviation since 1966.

Mr. Sawyer resides in Falls Church, Virginia.
